Ford recalls over 741,000 vehicles over park system issue: NHTSA
By Zach Kaplan,
2026-07-01(NewsNation) — Ford is recalling more than 741,000 vehicles because of a park system issue that could cause unintended movement and rolling away, federal regulators announced.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall applies to certain Ford Expedition, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Aviator vehicles with model years between 2018 and 2021.
“Affected vehicles may experience temporary engagement of their transmission parking pawl,” the NHTSA said, warning that it could damage park system components.
Damage to the components could affect the “ability of the transmission park feature to hold the vehicle if the parking brake is not applied,” increasing the risk of a crash, the agency added.
Ford is aware of 24 allegations of property damage and nine alleged injuries related to the recall. Two of these alleged injuries are emotional, the NHTSA noted.
Owners will be notified by mail and should take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for a powertrain control module update at no cost. Dealers will also inspect the vehicle’s transmission and replace damaged components as needed.
For questions, owners can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332.

Contractor Took $40,000 for Home Repairs... Then Allegedly Built a Baseball Card Collection Instead!
You know, when you hire a contractor, you have certain expectations. Maybe they’ll show up a little late. Maybe they’ll disappear for three days because they’re "waiting on materials." Maybe they'll spend half the day leaning against a truck discussing the weather with another guy who's also apparently on an extended coffee break.
