Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities presents iCan Shine Bike Camp

According to iCan Shine, over 80% of people with autism and 90% of people with Down syndrome never experience experience of independently riding a conventional two-wheel bicycle, but there is help!

The Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities is hosting its annual iCan Shine Bike Camp July 13-17. This camp teaches kids with disabilities to ride a two-wheeled bike, and every year, about 70% of the campers learn to ride by the end of the week.

The iCan Shine Bike Camp is at the East Moline Schools Administration building, located at 3451 Morton Dr., East Moline. Session times are 8:30-9:45 a.m., 10:05-11:20 a.m., 11:40 a.m. – 12:55 p.m., 2:00-3:15 p.m. and 3:35-4:50 p.m.

Community Policy

For years, boiling corn on the cob meant watching a pot, timing it just right, and still ending up with kernels that were sometimes tough and sometimes mushy. Switching to a slow cooker milk bath solved that problem completely. The corn comes out tender and sweet every time, and the stove stays free for everything else on the menu.
