Pearl is getting a fresh start, and Animal Rescue of New England, a foster-based rescue in Rhode Island with foster homes throughout New England, says this pearl-white pup will arrive in New England on August 1st and is now accepting adoption applications. According to Animal Rescue of New England, Pearl is about 7 years old, weighs 26 pounds, and is believed to be a Basset Doodle mix, a gentle, loyal companion-in-the-making who’s ready to trade a painful past for a home that feels safe.

Returned After Being "Too Chatty": Little Taxi is Hoping For a Second Chance That Actually Lasts

Taxi is a small, scruffy 27-pound Border Terrier/Pug mix (no DNA done) in Massachusetts who’s looking for a forever home after a disappointing turn of events: Taxi was adopted, then returned, not for aggression or “bad behavior,” but simply for barking at daycare. In a recent post, PAWS New England shared Taxi’s story in Taxi’s own words, explaining that busy daycare environments are stressful and bring out loud opinions, even though Taxi is otherwise described as “pretty perfect” at home.

Yellowstone’s oldest wolf pack, Mollie’s Pack, leaves the park, raising fears for its future

Leslie Patten hiked into a remote reach of northwest Wyoming’s Sunlight Basin in December to post a trail camera where she’d earlier seen wolf tracks. At the time, a winter closure was fast approaching, and the Park County resident wouldn’t be able to retrieve the camera and review the footage for months. When she hiked back to fetch her equipment on May 1, the citizen scientist and author was greeted by one of nature’s most primal noises: the howls of wolves.

A loving little pup named Cinnamon is searching for the family that will help him put his difficult past behind him and give him a bright future. Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE), a dedicated foster-based dog rescue in Massachusetts, has introduced Cinnamon Donut, who recently came into their care. According to the rescue, “Last Friday, the police in West Springfield called to say that they had 12 dogs in an abandoned home with nobody to take care of them, and they were fearful that without rescue, they might starve to death in the house. Of course, Great Dog Rescue jumped into action and took every single dog to safety.”

Grace Noel "Gracie" Reapp has been missing from Jericho, Vermont (Chittenden County), since June 7, 1978, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Her photo above is an age-progressed likeness of how she might have looked at 44, though she would now be 53 if alive. She was only five years old when she went missing.

Meet Dustin: The Friendly 4-Year-Old Spaniel Mix Waiting to Travel to New England

Small Dog Rescue of New England recently introduced Dustin, a spaniel mix described as “a friendly boy” who is currently waiting in Texas and is now being shared in hopes of finding an adoptive home in the Northeast. The volunteer-run nonprofit, which focuses on moving small dogs out of high-risk shelter situations, is asking the public to help spread the word: “Please share for adoption.”
