Deer hunt for archery hunters approved in Scott County

The Scott County Conservation Board has approved a deer hunt for archery hunters only beginning October 1.

According to a release, the hunt is only for residents of Iowa. The hunt runs October 1 through January 10 at Scott County Park, located at 18850 270th St., Eldridge.

Applications must be returned no later than Friday, July 31 by 4:30 p.m. For more information or to apply, click here.

For years, boiling corn on the cob meant watching a pot, timing it just right, and still ending up with kernels that were sometimes tough and sometimes mushy. Switching to a slow cooker milk bath solved that problem completely. The corn comes out tender and sweet every time, and the stove stays free for everything else on the menu.
