By Dipti Sharma,
2026-07-09Beginning July 13, 240th Street will be under construction. The street between 180th Avenue and 240th Avenue will be reduced to one lane for a Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) resurfacing project.

Scott County Road Department advises motorists to be prepared to stop and expect delays due to the road construction.
Work is anticipated through October 30, with road restrictions generally occurring Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Construction schedules can change due to weather conditions and project progress.

Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!
