I-80 exit at Middle Road closing for construction projects

Crews with the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) will close an exit on I-80 for work on Middle Road and the new Gateway pedestrian bridge.
The Iowa DOT and the City of Bettendorf plan to close the Interstate 80 Middle Road Interchange (Exit 301) so crews can continue to work on projects in the area. Middle Road will be closed at I-80 weekly on Tuesday, July 21; Tuesday, July 28 and Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 6 a.m. Tuesday morning until 6 a.m. Friday morning. The Middle Road Interchange will be re-opened Friday through Monday weekly during this part of the project, weather permitting.
During the closure, traffic will follow marked detour routes on east- and westbound I-80. Drivers heading east/west on I-80 can take Exit 298 for eastbound I-74 toward Bettendorf/Davenport, continue traveling on I-74 and take Exit 3 for Middle Road toward Locust Street, then turn left onto Middle Road and continue traveling on Middle Road.
Drivers should use caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. Drivers should stay alert, allow plenty of space between vehicles and wear seat belts.

Correction made to the number of years Tyarra has been missing. It's been corrected to read "10 years." Tyarra Cacique Williams has been missing from Greensboro, North Carolina (Guilford County), since January 7, 2016, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Tyarra would now be 30 years old.
