Rock Island road work leads to traffic restriction

Drivers in Rock Island will find a temporary traffic restriction in place on Friday and Saturday.

A news release from the city said there will be a temporary traffic restriction at the intersection of 24^th Street and 18^th Avenue on Thursday, July 16 through Saturday, July 18. A “No Right Turn” restriction will be in place for motorists heading onto 18^th Avenue from 24^th Street. The intersection will remain open and traffic will continue to move through the area, but vehicles will not be permitted to make the right turn from 24th Street onto 18th Avenue.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible, follow posted signage and be cautious while navigating the temporary traffic restriction. The restriction is expected to be lifted after scheduled work is completed on Saturday, July 18.
