Clinton Fire battles weekend structure fire
By Sharon Wren,
16 hours agoClinton firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Harts Mill Road on Saturday night.
A news release from the Clinton Fire Department said firefighters were called to a structure fire in the 5400 block of Harts Mill Road on August 1 at about 6:37 p.m. Crews saw heavy smoke coming from the area of the residence while still traveling on Hwy 30 to the fire. Camanche, Fulton and Low Moor Fire Departments were dispatched to bring tankers for water supply and a second alarm was paged to bring in more personnel.
The first crews to arrive found a single-story, ranch-style residence with smoke and fire showing from the roof. They established command and began offensive fire tactics. Crews worked for three hours to extinguish the fire and perform overhaul. No residents were home at the time of the fire and no personnel were injured.
Low Moore Fire, Camanche Fire, Fulton Fire, Eastern Iowa REC, Clinton County Communications and 1-800-BoardUp assisted at the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
