Davenport man wins thousands in Iowa Lottery jackpot
By Sharon Wren,
2 hours agoIt’s been some time since there was a lottery winner in the Quad Cities, but a Davenport man has just won an Iowa Lottery prize worth over $545,000.
Jered Sandry won the jackpot prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “Blank Check Progressive” InstaPlay game. He bought his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1823 E. Kimberly Road in Davenport. His win was the largest InstaPlay prize won since the product debuted in Iowa in 2016. He claimed his prize of $545,153 Thursday at the lottery’s main office in Clive.
The Blank Check Progressive jackpot starts at $50,000 and increases with each ticket sold statewide until it is won. The jackpot was last hit in January and had grown for more than six months before Sandry’s win.
InstaPlay combines features of scratch and lotto games. Tickets are printed on demand from lottery terminals instead of being pre-printed. They are sometimes called “scratchless” because there is no security coating to remove. InstaPlay games range in price from $1 to $30.
