Davenport firefighters respond to Harrison Street structure fire

1 days agoDavenport firefighters responded to the 1500 block of Harrison Street on August 3 at about 8:17 p.m. for a report of a structure fire, according to a news release from the Davenport Fire Department. The first fire units arrived at 8:20 p.m.
Firefighters entered the business through the front door and found light smoke inside the commercial space. Crews searched the building, found an apartment attached to the rear of the structure and determined that the fire was in the rear apartment. They entered the apartment, extinguished the fire and searched for victims while other crews searched the three apartments above the commercial building.
Firefighters met with the building’s residents, who confirmed that all residents had been accounted for and that no injuries had been reported.
Medic EMS of Scott County and MidAmerican Energy assisted at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 563-326-7906.
