Rivermont Collegiate names new interim head of school

Rivermont Collegiate has a new interim Head of School.

Richard Wiley has been named the interim Head of School for the 2026-2027 academic year. The appointment comes after a selection process that included candidate videos and community input, as well as feedback from families, faculty, staff and stakeholders.

“We are excited to welcome Richard Wiley to the Rivermont community,” said Board of Trustees President Joe Rives. “His extensive leadership experience, commitment to academic excellence and global perspective align closely with Rivermont’s mission to prepare students to lead and succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.”

Wiley brings more than 27 years of educational leadership experience to Rivermont. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Texas Tech University; a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Texas State University; Texas Superintendent Certification and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership from North Central University.

He has served as both a private school principal and a superintendent in domestic and international settings during his career. He has leadership experience in the United States, China and the United Arab Emirates, where he led initiatives focused on academic rigor, student achievement, faculty development, family engagement and institutional growth.

Wiley has pioneered the development of Lorsey, an AI-driven personalized learning platform that supports individualized student learning and achievement. He will lead the program, using his educational leadership experience to advance innovative teaching and learning throughout the school.

“Richard’s record of cultivating high-performing learning environments and advancing educational excellence makes him exceptionally well suited to lead Rivermont in the coming school year,” said Rives. “His passion for learning and commitment to student success embody the values that define our school community.”

Wiley and his wife, Daisy, will live on the Rivermont campus and become active members of the school community.
