Muscatine seeks seasonal-work applicants

The City of Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department is seeking applicants for several season positions for 2026 including Program Instructor, Program Aide, and Seasonal Equipment Operator, a news release says These roles are ideal for students, individuals seeking temporary or flexible work, and community-minded residents interested in supporting recreational programs and park services.

Seasonal employees play an essential role in maintaining the City’s parks, facilities, and recreation programs that serve both residents and visitors. Applicants can view current openings through the City of Muscatine’s Career Center, where additional full-time opportunities are also posted.

Parks and Recreation Programs

Recreation Program Instructor ($16.00/hr): Candidates should enjoy working with children and are able to interact with them in a positive, encouraging manner. Instructors support youth sports programming during fall and winter seasons. Hours vary by program. Background check required.

Program Aide ($12.00/hr): Assists with recreational youth sports programs during fall and winter seasons. Ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and fostering a positive environment. Hours vary by program. Background check required.

Parks Maintenance

Seasonal Equipment Operator ($15.00/hr): Responsible for safely operating equipment such as riding mowers, push mowers, string trimmers, and other grounds-keeping tools. Duties include mowing, grounds maintenance, and care of green spaces and facilities across Parks Department locations. Must be at least 18 years old. Some weekend hours may be required.
