“American Pickers'” Rob Wolfe hosts antique swap and auction in the QCA

An event for fans of antique items and collectibles is taking place at the Bend XPO Center. The Rust Belt Americana Antique Swap and Auction is in East Moline at 922 Mississippi Parkway, from August 6th through August 8th. The event is presented by Rob Wolfe who is best known for his work in the show “American Pickers.”

This is the third year of the swap and auction which plans to continue expanding. It features both an outdoor and indoor area with venders selling anything from antique signs, to engines, to familiar statues.

Wolfe told Our Quad Cities News “If you can’t find it here, I’d have to say you’re not going to find it anywhere in the country.” He adds, his favorite part of the event is meeting the different vendors who come to sell their items. “These antique dealers are from all over the world. They are the best salt of the earth people that you’re ever going to meet.” he added.

Hours run from 8a.m. to 8p.m. on Saturday and 8a.m. to 5p.m. on Sunday, with live bidding for the Richmond Auctions beginning at 1p.m. on Saturday. For more information you can visit the Rust Belt Americana website here.

The sugars and carbonation in the Coke work into the ribs overnight, breaking down the meat until it's tender enough to fall off the bone. A splash of Coke stirred into the barbecue sauce ties the whole thing together, so it never tastes like a novelty, just really good ribs.
