Central States Shrine Association holding Ceremonial Session in Davenport

Davenport is welcoming the 2026 Central States Shrine Association (CSSA) for its Ceremonial Session on August 19-22. The Ceremonial Session will feature a grand Shrine parade through downtown Davenport, a marketplace at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, a pub crawl, a golf tournament and a full lineup of activities.

”We are thrilled to welcome the Central State Shrine Association (CSSA) to the Quad Cities,” said Dave Herrell, president and CEO of Visit Quad Cities. “The CSSA Ceremonial Session is a highly sought-after group business opportunity and we look forward to hosting the various shrine centers from throughout the Midwest. We would also like to recognize the Kaaba Shriners for all of their effort in helping to bring this unique event to life.”

The CSSA Shriner Parade through downtown Davenport will feature vibrant displays, specialty vehicles, marching groups and representatives from shrine centers across the Midwest. Community members and visitors are encouraged to line the streets to support the 22 shrine centers from seven states and enjoy the celebration and fellowship.

“This gathering feels like a large family reunion, and we’re excited to come together in the Quad Cities,” said Todd Gullickson, CSSA 2026 President and member of the Kaaba Shriners. “We look forward to seeing the streets lined for our parade and the marketplace buzzing with people enjoying everything we have to offer. Our association brings a wide range of talents and specialties, and we’re eager to share them with everyone who attends.”

Events open to the public include:

  • Marketplace on August 20 – 22 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds
  • Shrine Parade on August 22, starting at 10 a.m. in downtown Davenport
  • Competitions (motor corp, patrol, drones) on August 21 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds

Kaaba Shrine, the local shrine center in Davenport, is part of the CSSA and will host the shrine convention. Each of the 22 shrine centers in the CSSA is a member of Shriners International, a fraternal organization focused on fun, fellowship and philanthropy. Shriners created and operate Shriners Children’s, which provides specialized pediatric care to more than 1.5 million children at over 100 access points of care.
