Bettendorf football preps for new season

The Bettendorf Bulldogs are ready to rock and roll in 2026.

"Ya know, it really makes me proud to be a Bulldog, ya know. We've got a lot of good things that have happened in the past, and I think we can really make something happen this year," said Preston Tennant, a Bettendorf senior.

The Bulldogs went 4-5 a year ago.

"I mean I think it's different than every other year I've been here. I think everybody is just a lot more bought in this year, and the guys are kind of tugging on the same rope, and we are all ready to go. I mean it's great. Everybody is just excited for the new season to start. I mean, we are ready to go after our long offseason," said Nick Schaich, a Bettendorf senior.

"I just like the energy of the whole thing. It's been a great attitude about it, and we got a group that really likes to come to work and good kids to be around. It's one thing to look good in practice and in the weight room and all that, but until you get it on and play a real game, you still have some unknown out there so we're doing what everyone else is doing which is trying to get the pieces in place," said Aaron Wiley, Bettendorf football's head coach.

"We got a lot of experience, ya know. We had a lot of young guys last year, but we got guys stepping into big roles. So I think we are ready and just very excited to kick things off," said Caleb Brown, a Bettendorf senior.
