Sprint racers will ‘invade’ West Liberty Raceway in Muscatine
By Linda Cook,
11 hours agoSummer break is over for West Liberty Raceway and the Sprint Invaders. On Saturday, Sept. 5, the winged warriors will compete on the big half-mile track. Both the Sprint Invaders and West Liberty Raceway have been idle since mid-July.
The Sprint Invaders have competed at West Liberty six times. They last raced here in 2023, when Tasker Phillips took the win. Other West Liberty winners have been Jesse Giannetto (2006), Jerrod Hull (2007), Josh Schniederman (2008), Matt Rogerson (2009), and Bobby Mincer (2010).
In addition to the Sprint Invaders, other classes racing will be the West Liberty Auto Parts IMCA Modifieds, the Aupp Automotive IMCA SportMods, the Brothers Towing/DeVore Towing/Midtown Towing Street Stocks, and the Midwest Jalopies.
The pit gate will open at 3:30 p.m. The grandstand opens at 4 p.m. A drivers meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., with hot laps at 6 p.m., and racing afterward.
Grandstand admission for adults is $25, kids (5-10) are admitted for $10; and children 4 and younger are admitted free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $35.
The West Liberty Raceway is at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds in West Liberty, Iowa.
