No evidence social media threat is credible: East Moline Police

East Moline Police responded to a social media threat against Glenview Middle School this week, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.
The East Moline Police Department was notified about a social media threat referring to “violence” at Glenview Middle School, 3100 7th Street, East Moline, that was received through the social media application, Tik Tok on September 3. The threat implied there would be “violence” at the school on September 10th and did not give any more information.
East Moline Police and Glenview Middle School administration immediately began an investigation into this threat. Currently there is no evidence that the threat is credible and investigators are working to find the threat’s origin. Officers will work with school officials to take precautions at the school until this threat is resolved.
