Pritzker coy about presidential aspirations while optimistic Bears could stay in Illinois

18 hours agoWe find ourselves 51 days away from counting the votes in the midterm election. This morning we focus on the Illinois race for governor with Democratic incumbent JB Pritzker seeking a third term with challenges from Republican Darren Bailey and independent Collin Corbett.
There isn't any recent polling of this race but JB Pritzker is the favorite to win reelection.
Host Jim Niedelman sat down with him on Labor Day when he brought his campaign to the Quad Cities.
"We want to stay the course and move Illinois forward," Pritzker said. "We've made a lot of progress in Illinois since 2018. I think you're well aware that Illinois had the worst credit rating. In fact we were just above junk status among the states. We also had unbalanced budgets. Our credit rating was terrible, and we weren't able to pay for the things that really matter to people."

Advocate describes Denver homeless person dying of overdose in their hands
Z Williams told the Denver City Council Monday that a homeless person died in their hands as they unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate them after an overdose. Several people spoke about overdose at the council meeting during public comment period. They criticized city officials for not doing enough to prevent overdose in Denver.

Alameda’s 90 Day Fiancée, Catie Norboe
Catie Norboe, 26, is Alameda’s own reality TV star. The Alameda native is a pet sitter who is featured on the current season of the hit series 90 Day Fiancé. The show documents experiences of couples who have applied for a K-1 Visa and are required to wed within 90 days. Catie’s fiancé Josh, 30, is from the UK and intends to move to Portland, Oregon to be with her and begin life in the US. Their screen time on the show has included a variety of locations throughout Alameda, including Swell Bar and Whisk Cakes, as they’ve come here to visit Catie’s family and prepare for their wedding.
