Road, bridge closures ahead of Quad Cities Marathon

The 29th TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon weekend of events will take place Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27^th. Holding the races means road closures and traffic adjustments in the Quad Cities starting Friday, September 25th. Click here for detailed maps of the race routes and the most up to date race information. Race start times are 7 a.m. for the marathon and half marathon and 7:15 a.m. for the 5K and 10K races.

The street closures and traffic plans include:

Friday, Sept. 25^th, street closures

• Moline: 17th St. from River Drive to Bass Stret Landing, 12 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday
• Moline: River Drive from 12th Street to 15th Street in front of John Deere Commons, 5 p.m.
• Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday

Saturday, Sept. 26^th, street closures

• Moline: 17th Street from River Drive to Bass Street Landing, 12 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m.
• Saturday
• Moline: John Deere Commons, River Drive from 12th Street to 15th Street, 5 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday
• Race Expo: The Active Endeavors Health & Fitness Expo will be held at Stoney Creek Inn,
• 101 18th Street in Moline from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Downtown Moline Traffic Plan for Ella Langley Concert Saturday evening at Vibrant Arena

Sunday, Sept. 27^th, street closure

• Moline: River Drive from 12th Street to 55th Street, 6:30 to 9 a.m.

Ample parking for racers and spectators at the Vibrant Arena at The Mark, 1201 River Drive in Moline. The parking lot is located to the west of the venue. Participants and fans arriving via I-74 should use the 7^th Avenue exit, turn right at 19th Street to 4^th Avenue. At 4^th Avenue, turn left to 12th Street to access the Vibrant Arena parking lot.

Pedestrian paths and ramps to I-74 will be closed during the event, including:

• I-74 pedestrian path, closed from 6:45 to 9:30 a.m.
• Iowa Mississippi River Trail, closed from 6:45 to 11:30 a.m. from I-74 to the Government Bridge
• Iowa I-74 ramp closures
• Bettendorf State Street Iowa off ramp closed from 6 to 10 a.m.
• Bettendorf State Street Illinois-bound on ramp closed from 6 to 10 a.m.
• Preferred route: Middle Rd. on/off ramps

Illinois I-74 ramp closures:

• Moline River Drive off ramp closed from 6:40 to 9 a.m.
• Moline River Drive Iowa-bound on ramp closed from 6:40 to 9 a.m.
• Preferred route: 7th Ave on/off ramps

Downtown Davenport closures:

• Eastbound lanes of 2nd Street from the Government Bridge to Talbot (Centennial) Bridge will be closed from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Temporary No Parking on the south side will be enforced during that time.

Downtown Rock Island

• Expect minor delays on 2nd Avenue between 15th and 20^th, 3rd Avenue between 18th and 20th, 18th between 1st Avenue and 3rd Avenue and 20th between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Centennial Bridge Lane Closure

• Both Iowa-bound lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Drivers should use I-74 or I-280. Both Illinois-bound lanes will be open.

Rock Island Arsenal Access

• The Government Bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• No access to RIA’s Moline gate via 14th Street to 16th Street overpass due to construction.
• RIA is only accessible via 17th Street at 4th Avenue between 6:30 and 8 a.m. Moline Police will direct Arsenal traffic to River Drive, up the RIA ramp and onto Rodman Avenue
• during gaps in race traffic.
• There is no exit from Moline Gate from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drivers should exit RIA via Rock Island gate.
