UPDATE: Victim identified in Henry County fatal crash

UPDATE: An email from Melissa Watkins, Henry Coroner, identified the dead woman as Alisa Gillen, 56. The incicent is still under investigation.

EARLIER: A 56-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in rural Galva, according to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash near Illinois Route 34 and 1850 East in rural Galva on Sept. 22 at about 5:48 p.m.  Deputies and emergency personnel responded and one driver was evaluated at the scene and released.

The other driver, Alisa Gillen, was taken to OSF Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kewanee for medical evaluation and was later pronounced dead. There were no additional occupants in either vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Henry County Coroner’s Office.
