2 die in late-night Scott County crash

Two people died in a two-car crash late Saturday in Scott County, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, the Scott Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call in reference to a crash in the area of Utica Ridge Road/210th Avenue and 287th Street in rural northern Scott County between McCausland and Long Grove.
An Initial investigation found that a white 2009 Mazda 6 was traveling north on 210th Avenue A while a black 2011 Chevrolet Impala was traveling east on 290th Street.
These are two-lane paved roadways in rural Scott County. The east/west roadway of 290th Street
and 287th Street both have stop signs for east/west traffic. Drivers on north and south 210th Avenue have the right of way, according to the release.
The eastbound Impala did not stop at the posted stop sign and struck the northbound white Mazda, pushing both cars into the northeast corner of the intersection and into private property.
"The Mazda was occupied by two male subjects who were both pronounced deceased on scene," the news release says. Three people, all of whom were transported from the scene by Scott County MEDIC EMS, were in the Impala. All were in stable condition.
"The case remains under investigation and no names will be released at this time," the release concludes.
These agencies responded to the scene: Scott County Sheriff's Office, Scott County
Conservation, Iowa State Patrol, Scott County MEDIC EMS, McCausland Fire Department,
Princeton Fire Department, and MEDFORCE Aeromedical Transport. During the response, the
Scott County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Team was requested to assist along with the Scott County Sheriff's Office Reserves.

Noah, pictured above, was two when he went missing, but he would now be five years old. His brother, Oliver Richard (pictured below), was only seven months old when he also went missing on the same date. Oliver would now be three.
