Learn about Adult Mental Health First Aid in Galesburg

This fall, residents in and around Galesburg can learn how to help someone dealing with mental health or substance use challenges.

The Adult Mental Health First Aid training class will be held at the Galesburg Public Library, 264 W Main St., on November 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The class teaches participants how to recognize signs of mental health and substance use concerns, offer initial support, reduce stigma and connect people with appropriate community resources. The class is led by Illinois Extension Educator Tessa Hobbs-Curley.

The deadline to register is Nov. 3; click here to sign up. Learn more about health and wellness programs by visiting Extension resources or contact the McDonough County Extension office at 309-837-3939.
