Residents invited to line funeral procession route for former Davenport fire chief

13 hours agoThe funeral for former Davenport Fire Chief Mark Frese will take place on Thursday morning, Oct. 1, according to a news release from the City of Davenport.
Members of the public are invited and encouraged to line the procession route to pay their respects and honor Frese’s nearly 37 years of dedicated service to the Davenport Fire Department and the residents of Davenport.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution, remain alert and anticipate potential traffic delays along the procession route. The City of Davenport appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as the community honors Frese’s dedicated service and lasting contributions to the Davenport Fire Department and Davenport residents.
The funeral procession will follow the service and is expected to begin at about 11:30 a.m.
The procession will depart from St. Anthony Catholic Church, 417 N. Main St., and follow this route:
- Travel west to Gaines Street and turn left to continue west on Locust Street.
- Continue northwest on Hickory Grove Road to Central Park Avenue, then
travel east to Brady Street. - Turn north on Brady Street to 42nd Street, then travel south on Welcome Way
to Kimberly Road. - Travel east on Kimberly Road to Davenport Avenue before proceeding to Mt.
Calvary Cemetery, where Frese will be laid to rest.

WHY?” The shelter describes Mandy as an affectionate “velcro pup” who “will glue herself to you and never leave,” adding that while she enjoys walks “at a brisk dawdle,” she’d “much rather be in your lap or curled up next to you, as long as she’s touching you somehow.”
