ImpactLife presents check for $4,000-plus to River Bend Food Bank
By Linda Cook,
1 days agoThanks to contributions from blood donors, ImpactLife presented a check for $4,380 to leaders of River Bend Food Bank on Thursday, Oct. 1, a news release says.
Funds are provided through the blood center's Good Giving program, which gives donors have the opportunity to redeem a voucher for their choice of an electronic gift card, bonus points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store, or to make an equivalent value contribution to an important cause.
At noon on Thursday, representatives from ImpactLife visited River Bend Food Bank, 4010 Kimmel Drive, Davenport, to presented a $4,380 donation and to learn how the food bank supports the charitable food system in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. The donation is being made through the Good Giving promotion held from March 2026 through August 2026, when ImpactLife blood donors were given a voucher to redeem for their choice of an electronic gift card or to donate the same amount to support local food banks in the blood center’s service region.
Blood donors directed $23,460 in support to food banks and this total is now being distributed to food banks that serve communities of the ImpactLife service region.
Good Giving: How It Works
Good Giving is a component of the blood center’s Donor For Life rewards program, which provides donors the opportunity to support charitable organizations and make a financial impact with the value of their ImpactLife donor reward. After each donation, blood donors receive an email with the subject line “Your Recent Donation” within 48 hours. The message includes a link to order a thank you gift, which can come in the form of an electronic gift card, points to use in the Donor Rewards Store, or the opportunity to make a charitable donation.
Donors who select the Good Giving option receive information on how to select a nonprofit organization from the options listed under the program. Good Giving options from September 2026 through February 2027 include national health advocacy organizations and children's hospitals in the blood center's service region. The amount of the contribution is based on the type of blood donation (whole blood, double red cells, or platelets/plamsa) and donor frequency. For more information, visit here.
