Muscatine invites residents to join in the Healthiest State Walk
By Linda Cook,
8 hours agoIowans across the state will take part in the 16th Annual Healthiest State Walk on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in a statewide initiative encouraging residents to step outside for a 30-minute walk. Workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and community groups are invited to participate in whatever way works best for them.
The City of Muscatine invites all residents to join a community walk along the riverfront. City staff will gather at 12:15 p.m. at the Mississippi Harvest (Clam Man) statue and walk together for 30 minutes. Everyone is welcome—bring a coworker, a friend, or simply yourself.
If you can’t make the riverfront walk, there are plenty of other ways to get involved:
- Walk the Y Outdoor Trail at your own pace starting at noon.
- Organize a walk with friends, family, or coworkers at a location that fits your schedule.
- Take a solo walk—every step counts and every participant helps strengthen the statewide effort.
Participants are encouraged to snap a photo and share it using #HealthiestWalkMuscatine to help showcase Muscatine’s commitment to healthier living.
