Bettendorf Middle School students wrap up week of challenges with burst of color
By Linda Cook,
1 days agoBettendorf Middle School students wrapped up weeks of school-wide challenges with a burst of color on Friday. The BMS Color Run had students running, tossing colorful powder and celebrating with classmates and staff.
The event also raised money for the WEB - Where Everybody Belongs - program.
Students earned extra color through challenges, including a tardy challenge, Spirit Week activities and an advisory coin challenge. Every student got to participate, regardless of whether their family donated.

The One Crispy Apple I'm Choosing Over Honeycrisp Right Now
Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!
