I wanted to find out where Walmart's beef comes from, so I visited a Walmart store in Oregon to see what information I could find in the beef department and the packaging. Earlier this week, I published an article on NewsBreak sharing about where Kroger has been sourcing its beef from - Where Kroger Is Getting Its Beef From Right Now - Here's What to Know. I have been wondering where other grocery stores are sourcing their meat from as well. So I went into a Walmart store in Oregon this morning to see what I could find.

Tropical Storm Rachel Expected to Impact Southern California and Surrounding States | Complex Setup

Once again, the setup remains to be very complex, so it is no surprise that the track remains difficult to pin down with now almost two areas of shift possible. A cutoff low, an upper level trough, and what remains of Rachel all have to interact, with their timing and positioning playing a major role in how this unfolds. Even small changes could shift where the deepest moisture moves, where the lifting mechanism is, where thunderstorms develop, and which areas receive the heaviest rainfall. That is why individual model runs can show noticeably different outcomes. Confidence should improve as these features evolve, but the exact track and rainfall totals still have room to change still.

The One Crispy Apple I'm Choosing Over Honeycrisp Right Now

Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!

Your Freezer Has Been Waiting for This Pizza

Homemade pizza becomes much more practical when the dough is prepared with the freezer in mind. One mixing session can create several future dinners, giving you fresh crust without beginning from flour every time a pizza craving appears. The dough bakes into a chewy center with crisp edges and can support sauce, cheese, vegetables, and favorite meats. It delivers the flexibility of homemade pizza with the convenience normally associated with frozen food.

This Custard Pie Magically Forms Its Own Crust

Magic crust custard pie earns its name by accomplishing something that feels almost impossible: a simple batter separates as it bakes, creating a delicate crust and creamy custard center without rolling or fitting pastry dough. The top becomes lightly golden while the inside stays soft, smooth, and gently sweet. Nutmeg or vanilla gives the filling its familiar old-fashioned aroma, and the thin crust provides just enough structure to hold a clean slice. It is an ideal dessert for anyone who loves homemade pie but would happily skip the most intimidating part of preparing one.

What I Learned About Costco Beef By Reading the Packages

Sharing anything I can learn about Costco beef from just reading the labels. A lot of people are asking questions these days about where beef is being sourced from. It can be hard to track down where every steak is coming from. There are no requirements to label beef with the country of origin. According to PBS News, requirements were removed by Congress in 2016 in response to being ruled against by the World Trade Organization (WTO). They authorized Canada and Mexico to begin economic retaliation against the United States. This is when the requirement was removed.

Your Kitchen Is About to Smell Incredible

Apple and cinnamon have a way of making a kitchen feel warmer before the first slice ever leaves the pan. This Sweet Apple Cinnamon Bread is packed with cozy spice, tender apple goodness, and that soft, moist crumb that makes “just a little slice” nearly impossible. The edges turn beautifully golden while the middle stays tender, with pockets of apple bringing juicy sweetness against all that fragrant cinnamon. It’s somewhere between breakfast, snack, and dessert—which is excellent news because that means there are technically three acceptable times to eat it.

One-Pot Goulash Is the Family Dinner Everyone Knows

American goulash combines ground beef, tender pasta, tomatoes, and savory seasoning in one pot of hearty comfort food. The noodles cook directly in the sauce, absorbing flavor while releasing starch that gives the dish a satisfying consistency. Ground beef provides richness, tomatoes bring acidity, and herbs make the kitchen smell like dinner has been simmering much longer than it actually has. It is generous, familiar, and designed to feed a hungry household without creating a sink full of dishes.
