Moline hosting meeting on 15th St./16th Ave. roundabout

The City of Moline is hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 5 – 7 p.m. to share preliminary plans for converting the intersection at 15^th Street and 16^th Avenue to a five-legged roundabout. The proposed project also includes pedestrian accessibility improvements. The meeting will be in the gymnasium at Seton Catholic School, 1320 16th Avenue. Click here for more information.

There will be no formal presentation, so residents are encouraged to stop by any time during the meeting. City staff and representatives from Hutchison Engineering will be at the meeting to share plans, answer questions and hear feedback.

Roundabouts are designed to improve safety, reduce delays and keep traffic moving. Slower speeds and fewer conflict points reduce the risk of severe collisions, while a smoother traffic flow means fewer stops and delays. Slower traffic and shorter crossings improve pedestrian safety and fewer stops means less idling, reducing fuel use and emissions.
