Nayman is a Holocaust survivor from Poland. He was born in 1935, and his older sister was born in 1928. When the war came in 19239, everyday life in their village was turned upside-down. The family escaped into the forest, where they saw Wehrmacht's trucks and troops roll through and destroy what was in their path.
From the there, the Naymans managed to trace a path to the eat, eventually making their way to the Soviet Union. Once there, they had to deal with wartime conditions in that nation, and they were forced into the vast reaches of Siberia, where the parents toiled away for many yeas.
As the war drew to a close, they made their way back to the wet, to Ukraine and eventually German, where they found themselves in the Wetzlar Displaced Persons Camp. Her life slowly came back to a state of relative normalcy, and after several years the family managed to emigrate to Canada.
Now retired, Nayman is active in Holocaust education, and a participant n the March of the Living.

The One Crispy Apple I'm Choosing Over Honeycrisp Right Now
Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!
