“Stop Ruining The Game” – Fans React as Mariners Pitcher Gabe Speier Gets Suspended For Intentional Throw vs Tigers
Major League Baseball suspended Seattle Mariners reliever Gabe Speier and manager Dan Wilson after Speier intentionally threw at Tigers batter Gleyber Torres during Wednesday’s game at T-Mobile Park. After the home umpire ejected Speier, Wilson quickly ran onto the field, demanding an explanation and passionately defending his reliever. The incident, which occurred an inning after Mariners slugger Cal Raleigh was hit in the stomach, prompted MLB to launch an investigation. Michael Hill, the senior vice president of on-field operations, said Speier was suspended for three games and Wilson was suspended for one game.
